Description

This Chicken Cordon Bleu Stromboli combines all the best elements of the classic dish—tender chicken, savory ham, and melted Swiss cheese—wrapped in crispy pizza dough. It’s an easy-to-make dinner that’s both comforting and impressive, perfect for weeknights or gatherings. Serve it with a dipping sauce for extra flavor!

Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

2 cups cooked chicken breast (sliced or shredded)

6 slices Swiss cheese

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)

1 tbsp melted butter

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp dried parsley

1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

  2. Prepare the Dough:
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 12×14 inches. Make sure the dough is evenly spread to hold the filling.

  3. Assemble the Stromboli:
In a small bowl, mix Dijon mustard and mayonnaise (if using). Spread this mixture evenly over the dough, leaving about 1 inch from the edges.
Layer the Swiss cheese and cooked chicken evenly across the dough.

  4. Roll and Seal the Stromboli:
Fold in the sides of the dough and roll it tightly from one long edge to the other, sealing the seams and ends to form a log. Pinch the edges well to prevent the filling from spilling out during baking.

  5. Add Toppings:
Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with melted butter, then sprinkle with garlic powder, dried parsley, and grated Parmesan cheese.

  6. Bake the Stromboli:
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on it to avoid over-browning.

  7. Serve:
Let the stromboli cool for 5 minutes before slicing it into generous pieces. Serve warm with honey mustard, marinara sauce, or a side salad.

Notes

  • Cheese Swap: Substitute Swiss cheese for provolone or mozzarella if preferred.

  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat at 350°F for 10-12 minutes or until crispy and fully heated through.
