Description

A quick and easy pan-seared salmon recipe with bold Cajun spices and a sweet, buttery honey glaze. Ready in just 25 minutes, this flavorful halal-friendly dish is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (skin on)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

Salt, to taste

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon halal soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

Juice of ½ lemon

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Black sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps them sear nicely and hold onto the seasoning.

  2. Rub each fillet with olive oil and season generously with Cajun seasoning. Add salt if needed.

  3. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side up and sear for about 3 minutes.

  4. Flip the fillets so the skin side is down, and cook for another 2 minutes.

  5. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in honey, soy sauce, and garlic. Let simmer for 1–2 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.

  6. Pour the honey butter sauce over the salmon in the skillet. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, spooning the sauce over the fillets.

  7. Once cooked, garnish with chopped parsley, lemon wedges, and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • If your Cajun blend is salty, skip additional salt.
  • Adjust Cajun spice to make it more or less spicy.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
  • Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a full meal.
