Description

Beef and Green Bean Stir-Fry is a quick and flavorful Asian-inspired dish featuring tender thinly sliced beef and crisp green beans tossed in a savory garlic soy sauce. Perfect for a fast weeknight dinner, this stir-fry combines a mix of aromatic garlic, ginger, and sauces for a perfectly balanced meal that pairs wonderfully with steamed rice.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

Vegetables

  • 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced

Sauces & Oils

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Spices

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Cook the beef: Add the thinly sliced beef to the hot pan and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  3. Cook green beans: In the same pan, add the fresh green beans and cook for 3–4 minutes until they are slightly tender yet crisp.
  4. Add aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic and ginger into the green beans, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Combine beef and sauce: Return the browned beef to the pan. Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Toss everything together thoroughly.
  6. Finish cooking: Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the ingredients are well coated with the sauce and heated through.
  7. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the stir-fry hot over steamed rice for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For softer green beans, blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes before stir-frying.
  • Add red chili flakes to the sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Substitute green beans with broccoli florets or snap peas for different textures and flavors.
