Description
Crispy and spicy, these battered jalapeño spears are the ultimate appetizer or party snack. Coated in a flavorful batter and fried to golden perfection, they’re bold, crunchy, and totally addictive!
Ingredients
1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 large eggs
1 pint vegetable oil (for frying)
2 cups jalapeño peppers, sliced into spears (5–6 large jalapeños)
Kosher salt, optional (for seasoning after frying)
Instructions

Cut jalapeños into spears: Remove stems, slice in half lengthwise, remove seeds if desired, then cut into thin sticks.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, eggs,until smooth. Batter should be slightly thinner than pancake batter.

Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 365°F (185°C).

Dip jalapeño spears in batter until fully coated.

Carefully place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown, crispy, and floating — about 2–4 minutes.

Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with extra kosher salt if desired. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
Notes
- Remove jalapeño seeds to reduce heat.
- Best enjoyed fresh and crispy.
- Try with ranch or garlic aioli for dipping.
