Description
A flavorful and juicy baked garlic balsamic steak marinated in a tangy mixture of balsamic vinegar, garlic, and herbs, perfect for a quick and delicious main dish.
Ingredients
Steak
- 1.5–2 lb steak (sirloin, flank, or skirt)
Marinade
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) to prepare for baking the steak.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, dried rosemary, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Marinate the Steak: Place the steak in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is fully coated and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Bake the Steak: Place the marinated steak on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, adjusting the time based on the thickness of the steak and your desired doneness.
- Optional Broil for Browning: For a more browned top, broil the steak for the last 2 minutes of cooking.
- Rest the Steak: Remove the steak from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy bite.
- Slice and Serve: Slice against the grain and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Broil the steak for the last 2 minutes of cooking for better browning and caramelization.
- Marinate the steak longer, up to a few hours, for a deeper and more intense flavor.
- Use gluten-free soy sauce to keep the recipe gluten-free.
- Allowing the steak to rest after baking ensures juicier meat.
