Description

A flavorful and juicy baked garlic balsamic steak marinated in a tangy mixture of balsamic vinegar, garlic, and herbs, perfect for a quick and delicious main dish.

Ingredients

Steak

  • 1.52 lb steak (sirloin, flank, or skirt)

Marinade

  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) to prepare for baking the steak.
  2. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, dried rosemary, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Marinate the Steak: Place the steak in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is fully coated and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. Bake the Steak: Place the marinated steak on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10–15 minutes, adjusting the time based on the thickness of the steak and your desired doneness.
  5. Optional Broil for Browning: For a more browned top, broil the steak for the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  6. Rest the Steak: Remove the steak from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy bite.
  7. Slice and Serve: Slice against the grain and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Broil the steak for the last 2 minutes of cooking for better browning and caramelization.
  • Marinate the steak longer, up to a few hours, for a deeper and more intense flavor.
  • Use gluten-free soy sauce to keep the recipe gluten-free.
  • Allowing the steak to rest after baking ensures juicier meat.
